aming Touch Systems: Operation and Troubleshooting Guidelines

Learn how capacitive touch sensors are built to survive the demanding casino environment, how the touch electronics are the real “brain of the system”, and how proper integration is the key to touch system longevity. This session will also demonstrate how to properly remove and reintegrate touch sensors and touch controllers, how touch sensor optics are crucial to the player experience, and pass along engineering tips and techniques the presenter has gathered from more than 10 years on the gaming circuit.

Learn the basics about progressive systems and their evolution. Gain basic knowledge of the different protocols and how they communicate with the game to accomplish different gaming features. Get inside knowledge of some of the problems and pitfalls associated with using one protocol over another. Understand what math models are used, and what works to motivate the player and what doesn’t. This session will discuss pulse protocol progressive systems, MS25 progressive systems, SAS progressive systems, mystery systems, server-based systems, and signs and triggers.

This session expands the basic knowledge to real-world installations. It will go into more of the technical specifics of installing and configuring games and controllers as a progressive system. Included will be some troubleshooting tips and useful information about issues that might arise. It will also include an open discussion with attendees to share experiences about the good, the bad and the ugly of progressive installs. The session will also include useful information on interface boards, harnesses and communication, controller settings and game settings.

This class is designed to help slot techs understand the functionality and maintenance of the FutureLogic GEN1, GEN2 and GEN2 Universal™ thermal ticket printers. Focusing on how to use the latest download and diagnostics tools to properly download and troubleshoot all FutureLogic printers, the presentation will consist of a PowerPoint lecture and in-depth training. It will also include a Q&A session.

An Introduction to G2S: The Communication Revolution

Gaming Standards Association representatives will provide an intro to their new G2S communication protocol. G2S is the protocol that will be replacing SAS and will be enabling networked gaming on the casino floor. This session will explore communication security, remote and local slot machine configuration, guests on the system, and a host of other exciting topics aimed at the computer-savvy technician looking to start honing his or her skills for the networked slot floor.

Promotional printing, along with networked gaming, will provide the next big lift in gaming over the next several years. GSA is helping peripheral equipment manufacturers collaborate to develop standards for this new technology. Discussed will be GSA’s philosophy that interoperability, ease of integration and a clear definition of processes are critical to the advancement of efficient, player-friendly systems.

Introduction to TCP/IP Networking

TCP/IP is the network that connects nearly everything. Understanding how this network functions and is administered is an increasingly important skill in running a casino operation. This technical workshop will incorporate worksheets and materials designed to introduce you to the details of TCP/IP. At the end of this course, you will have a clearer understanding of all the terminology and inner workings involved in setting up a TCP/IP network.
