Bally Technical Training Institute II

The Bally Technical Training Institute provides gaming-technology professionals with comprehensive training courses on an array of cutting-edge Bally gaming products. Bally's Technical Training Institute courses can be held anywhere! And CasinoFest 9 attendees are lucky enough to have this institute right at the Hard Rock, in conjunction with CasinoFest. Custom training programs are available and can be tailored to suit the needs of any gaming enterprise. Learn about the history of Bally Technologies as well as how to best use the company's products, from its ALPHA™ gaming platform, Bally Local Link, Class II games and more. This track was such a success at the last CasinoFest that it will be running in two rooms for CasinoFest 9.

Day 1 - Tuesday, May 17

Setting up PGI™ DCU with Bally Games
10:30 a.m. - Noon
This session will help you understand how to set up progressive on Bally games using PGI™ DCU (Data Collection Unit). It will provide basic knowledge of cable connections and progressive game setup. It may include RAM clearing of the game to setup game options for progressive configurations.

PGI™ DCU Controller Hands-On Configuration
1 p.m. - 2:30 pm
Each attendee will have a chance to experience a hands-on demo of SuperLink™ software necessary to configure the progressive controller. Learn how to navigate using SuperLink™ software.

Set up Bally CoolSign® Media Player with PGI™ DCU
3 p.m. - 3:50 p.m.
From PGI™ DCU hardware and software configuration, this session will include setting up the media player: Bally CoolSign. Get hands-on knowledge of Bally CoolSign hardware and software configurations. This includes laptop configurations of IP address settings and communication information.

4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
See the new Bally Local Link™! Bally Local Link is user friendly. See it to believe it. Learn how to set up a progressive link with Bally's dynamic local area progressive configuration tool: Bally Local Link. From hardware assembly to software setup, you will experience an easy setup and configuration.

History of Bally Technologies
10:30 am - Noon
From the very first Bally slots in the 1930s to the latest innovations in gaming, you'll learn about Bally's remarkable 79-year history as "The World's Game Maker®."

Introduction to Bally ALPHA 2 Pro™ Game Platform (Level 1)
This introductory class will acquaint you with the specific components and features of Bally's award-winning ALPHA 2 Pro™ gaming platform. The session will cover a basic review of the ALPHA OS and component identification. You will see the progression of the innovative cabinets and features such as the V22/22, V22/26, ALPHA 2 Pro™ Stepper, Hammer Head, Digital Tower, Super Candle and ALPHA 2 Pro™ Topper.

Introduction to Bally ALPHA 2 Pro™ Game Platform (Level 2)
1 pm - 2:30 p.m.
This class will help you to understand the various Attendant, Accounting and Technician screens. Learn the differences between the ALPHA 2 Pro Stepper and the video products.

Introduction to ALPHA 2 Pro™ MPU Technology
This session will introduce attendees to the various features of the ALPHA 2 Pro MPU. This includes such aspects as high definition graphics processing unit capacity, solid state hard drive, BIOS, DDR SDRAM and other key features. Also covered will be the differences between the ALPHA 2 Pro MPU, the iMPU and the ETX MPUs.

Introduction to Bally ALPHA 2 Pro™ Game Platform (Level 3)
3 pm - 3:50 p.m.
The real fun starts when you disassemble and reassemble an actual Bally game. You will learn about the digital sound board, lighting control unit, software installation, ram-clear and configuration. This is where you get actual hands-on experience.

Introduction to Bally ALPHA 2 Pro™ Game Platform (Level 3)
4 pm - 5:30 p.m.
Here we continue with hands-on experience. Attendees will actually disassemble, learn basic troubleshooting tactics and reassemble a Bally game. You will learn by doing the game setup and configuration yourself.

Day 3 - Thursday, May 19

Progressive Verification Setup and Incrimination Rates
10:30 a.m. - Noon
In this session, you'll gain an understanding of how to eliminate human error by learning to use Bally's automated Progressive Verification Form. Also covered will be how base values are determined and configured. Participants will also learn how to use calculation sheets that can help prevent any possible errors that could arise.

Stand-Alone Progressives
1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
This session will cover how stand-alone progressives differ from other types of progressive configurations, such as wide area progressives (also referred to as multi-area progressives). Attendees will also learn how stand-alone progressives can be set up on the same progressive link.

GameMaker HD™ with GameMaker HD™ Scheduler
3 p.m. - 3:50 p.m.
Bally's award-winning GameMaker multi-game platform was the industry's first and is still the industry's best. This session will cover the various slot, video poker, keno and blackjack games that make up the GameMaker multi-game suite. Attendees will also learn how to use Game Maker HD Scheduler to automatically control and schedule which games are available to the player at what days and times.

Lab Work: Set Up and Configuration
4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to set up, configure and play games using GameMaker HD, GameMaker HD Scheduler or any type of progressive configuration. Games can be played to verify progressive incrimination rates.
